Frequently Asked Questions

How long will my session be?
Each session is 30 minutes long. You can use as much or as little of that time as you’d like. If you have multiple topics to discuss, we recommend booking an additional slot to make sure we have time to cover everything thoroughly.

Can I join with someone else?
Yes, absolutely! If you’d like to join the session with others from the RDA community, they are more than welcome to participate. Just make sure to let us know so we can accommodate everyone.

Should I contact my County or Regional teams first?
Yes absolutely! We encourage you to reach out to your local county and/or regional teams before booking onto a drop-in clinic. They have a wealth of knowledge about the local area and the groups in your region. They can provide valuable, region-specific advice and support, and are often the best people to assist with specific queries related to your groups.

What topics can I get help with during the drop-in clinic?
We can provide support and guidance on a variety of volunteer-related topics, including:

  • Recruitment of Volunteers
  • Volunteer Retention
  • Volunteer Awareness and Appreciation
  • Engagement of Volunteers
  • Volunteer Development and Training
  • Volunteer Opportunities

If there’s something specific you’d like to discuss that isn’t listed above, feel free to bring it up during your session.

How do we do the drop-in sessions online?
You can join our drop-in sessions via your preferred platform – whether it’s phone, Teams, or Zoom, we’re flexible and happy to accommodate whichever method works best for you.

Do I need to prepare anything for the session?
While no formal preparation is necessary, it can be helpful to have any relevant details or specific challenges you’d like to discuss ready. This will allow us to provide the most targeted advice and support.

Can I cancel or reschedule my session?
Yes, you can reschedule or cancel your session directly through the Calendly link. If you need to change the time, simply choose a new slot that works for you. We understand that things can come up, so we aim to be flexible with your schedule.

Are these sessions confidential?
All discussions during the drop-in clinics are confidential. We respect your privacy, and anything shared during the session will not be disclosed to others without your consent. Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where you can speak openly.

The only exception to this confidentiality is where there are safeguarding concerns, or legal and statutory responsibilities that require us to take action. In such cases, at our discretion, we may need to share information or take steps in accordance with safeguarding policies and legal obligations to ensure the safety and well-being of all involved.
