Corporate Partnerships have become the thing! There are lots of benefits to working with companies. It can help you to raise vital funds, recruit new volunteers, receive gifts in kind (GIK) and/or service in kind (SIK), secure expertise that you don’t have in your RDA group, and, help to raise awareness of your local groups vital work.
Why should my group talk to businesses?
Working with companies can bring big benefits! It helps raise money, find volunteers, get free supplies, and spread the word about your RDA group. Businesses want to support charities, and with millions of companies in the UK, it’s a great idea to ask for help.
Why Companies Want to Partner with RDA
Partnering with your RDA group helps businesses give back to the community and support disabled people. It helps them reach their social goals and shows they care about making a positive impact.
How You Can Help Businesses
Show companies how working with your group benefits them too! Explain how their donations or help can boost their reputation with staff and customers, offer volunteering chances, and show their commitment to the community.
What Your Group Can Offer Companies:
- Volunteering Days: Host corporate volunteer days to give businesses a way to help, and charge a fee for hosting.
- Workshops: Companies can offer workshops in public speaking, social media, or leadership skills for your volunteers.
- Event Support: Corporate volunteers can help plan fundraising events, like a film screening of the ‘My Everest’ documentary, to raise funds.
- Creative Help: Get help with social media, websites, or crafting items for a fundraiser.
- Business Outreach: Volunteers can reach out to local businesses for sponsorships or donations.
- Pro Bono Support: Get expert help with legal, financial, or HR matters, like grant writing or board development.
What can my group do?
Think about companies near you or any connections your volunteers or trustees may have. Look for businesses that align with your goals, and make a list of those you’d like to approach.
Why not try…
- Team Challenges: Organize a team-building challenge like a walk or bike ride to raise money.
- Payroll Giving: Suggest payroll giving so employees can donate directly from their salary.
- Charity of the Year: Ask if you can be their Charity of the Year when their current partnership ends.
- Sponsor an RDA Horse: Offer businesses the chance to sponsor a horse with options for one-off or regular donations.
