In memory gifts are donated by the loved ones of those recently deceased, the funds usually come from funeral collections, online tributes or collections, or funds donated instead of flowers.
Why Should my group talk about In Memory Gifts?
When someone donates in memory of a loved one, it’s a powerful way to support your group. These donations often come from funeral collections or online tributes. Charities in the UK receive £1.8bn-£2.4bn a year through this type of giving.
What can my group do?
You can encourage donations by:
– Displaying a Remembrance Book or having a Memorial Wall.
– Sharing tributes on your website or newsletter.
– Sending thoughtful Christmas cards to families.
– You can also hold gatherings or name something special in honour of a loved one, like a pony or a bench.
