Recruitment for Coaching Working Group

Coaching is a vital part of the RDA proposition to participants, funders and supporters. Our coaching techniques nurture the relationship between the equine and the disabled participant, as RDA coaches are a key part of maintaining the quality and standards of activity.

As we assess and consider the range of activities delivered through RDA, it is important to continuously review RDA coaching, especially to ensure that we explore methods to meet the demand for more coaches, maintain RDA standards and consider new and emerging participant activities.

Reviewing RDA coaching should involve a range of representative stakeholders that adequately reflect the diversity and size of RDA Groups and activities. Therefore, we are looking to recruit a working group to inform a review of RDA’s coaching approach.

The working group’s purpose is to assess the effectiveness and suitability of RDA coaching methods and pathways. Based on its findings, recommendations will be produced to help shape the future of RDA coaching. This is an excellent opportunity to shape RDA’s future approach to coaching, especially considering the increasing number of non-ridden activities.

We are looking for people (group members) to represent the following roles:

  • A Regional Chair
  • Two Regional coaches
  • Two Group coaches
  • Advanced coach
  • Physiotherapist/Hippotherapist

The working group will be chaired by RDA’s Head of Coaching, who will plan to host a monthly online meeting to manage progress.

If you are interested in applying, please write a short paragraph, including your Name, RDA group explaining your RDA experience, the role (s) you hold and any other qualifications (RDA, BHS, UKCC etc.)  or experience (working with a variety of disabilities and / or range of activities i.e. ridden / non-ridden) which would be relevant to the working group membership. Please send to coaching@rda.org.uk by Friday 9th May. If you would like to find out more information, please email coaching@rda.org.uk.
